Our Gearing Up Program is creating 850 new work-integrated learning (WIL) placements to help post-secondary students enrolled in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or business enter the Canadian mining industry. We are providing wage subsidies up to $7,000 to employers who create new WIL opportunities such as co-ops, internships, field placements, applied projects, capstone projects or case competitions.

Gearing Up

The Green Jobs Program is helping 120 new graduates transition to long-term employment or pursue advanced studies, through work experience and mentorship provided by approved hiring organizations. Wage subsidies up to $12,000 are available to post-secondary graduates of STEM programs. The internships provided have a focus on clean technology and innovation as well as provide an environmental benefit to Canada.
