Canada is recognized as a global leader in mining. MiHR offers career information and wage subsidy programs so you can discover what it’s like to work in Canada’s mining industry while gaining relevant, on the job work-integrated learning experience.
Our Gearing Up Program is creating 850 new work-integrated learning (WIL) placements to help post-secondary students enrolled in science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) or business enter the Canadian mining industry. We are providing wage subsidies up to $7,000 to employers who create new WIL opportunities such as co-ops, internships, field placements, applied projects, capstone projects or case competitions.
The Green Jobs Program is helping 120 new graduates transition to long-term employment or pursue advanced studies, through work experience and mentorship provided by approved hiring organizations. Wage subsidies up to $12,000 are available to post-secondary graduates of STEM programs. The internships provided have a focus on clean technology and innovation as well as provide an environmental benefit to Canada.
